“Who’s Your Daddy”
The Gospel ReMix featuring John
Pages 9-11
The following day Jesus attended a wedding in the village of Cana, which is located in the city of Galilee. Mary, Jesus’ earthly Mother,
along with His disciples all went. When the wine that was being served ran out Mary approached Jesus and said, “There’s no wine left.”
Jesus said to her “Oh mom, come on now…what does that have to do with Me!? I’m not in charge of refreshments; and being honest, by
the look of things, most of the people here already seem a little ‘tipsy.’ So I’m asking you again, why tell Me!? Mary snapped back,
“Boy! First of all, who do You think You’re talking to in that tone of voice!? I tell You what Mister, You’d better check Yourself before
You wreck Yourself! Now I’m only going to say this one more time: There’s no wine left!” Mary now motioned to some of the servants to
come over to where she and Jesus were standing. She said to them, “Go quickly and do whatever He says!” There were six large water
jugs near them and each would hold somewhere between twenty and thirty gallons. Jesus had the servants fill each one to the brim with
just plain water. He then said to the servant that was standing closest, “fill an empty cup and take it over there to the Governor.” The
servant did as Jesus told him. When the ‘Governor’ tasted it, a huge smile ran across his face. He then called the bridegroom over and
said, “you know what, I’ve been to a lot of weddings; but I’ve never seen anything quite like this before! Normally the ‘best’ wine is
served first and then when everybody is just about drunk the ‘worst’ is brought out to complete the celebration; however, you’ve done
just the opposite! You saved the best for last! This is fantastic!” This was the very first recorded miracle that Jesus performed. His
Mother, along with His disciples and some of the servants in attendance, were all first hand witnesses to this miracle, and it strengthened
all of their faith.
Scene VII: “The Samaritan Woman at the well”
"Keeping It Real" The Gospel ReMix Jesus Shorts
Interaction between the Narrator, the Samaritan woman, three of the disciples and Jesus
Narrator: As Jesus and His disciples were walking by this ‘well,’ which was called Jacob’s Well. He felt a little tired, so He sat down to
rest. He told the disciples to go on ahead into town and pick up ‘some goodies’ from the store. He said that He’d wait there until they
returned. It was around noon and the sun was beaming; It was so hot that you could ‘fry an egg on the sidewalk.’ As He sat at this well
waiting for the disciples to make it back with ‘the goodies,’ a woman, who was by nationality a Samaritan, showed up. Jesus was a Jew,
and the Jews did not socialize with the Samaritans at all. They fought and argued more than ‘cats and dogs!’ She’d come to the ‘well’ to
draw out enough water for her to use that day. Using a rope she lowered her bucket into the well to withdraw some water.
Jesus, sitting there drooling, said to the Samaritan woman,
Jesus: “Give Me some of that!”
Narrator: The woman responded,
Samaritan woman: “Excuse me…are You talking to me!? ‘You’ Jews consider yourselves too good to deal with ‘us’ Samaritans; but now,
You’re sitting there with Your tongue darn near touching the ground from thirst and You want to hold a conversation! Well, if that doesn’
t beat all! Well, I never…”
Narrator: Jesus growing tired of this ‘chatter,’ interrupted the woman and said,
Jesus: “Look woman, I don’t have the patience or the time for this right now! Do you know how hot it is!?”
Narrator: The woman butted in,
Samaritan woman: “Do You!?”
Narrator: Jesus snapped back,
Jesus: “You are absolutely clueless…if you knew Who it was that was asking you for a drink you’d hurry up and get it for Me. You’d
also ask Me for some ‘special water’ that only I am able to give. This ‘special water’ quenches your inner thirst and gives life to those
who drink it.
Narrator: The woman interrupted Jesus again saying,
Samaritan woman: “You’re tripping…You’ve been out in the sun too long! This well is very deep; and, besides that, You don’t have
anything to draw any water out with! Tell me this, where is it that You plan on getting this ‘special water’ from!?
Narrator: Jesus responded,
Jesus: check this out, everyone who drinks from this well will become thirsty again; but, the water that I give will quench not only the
thirst of the body but also the thirst of the soul. This water that I give is ‘The True Living Water.’ It revives not only the body but also the
soul!”
Narrator: Once again, this ‘chatter box of a woman’ interrupted saying,
Samaritan woman: “Yeah right…give me some!”
Narrator: She continued,
Samaritan woman: “I’m just messing with You …unless You’re going to do it.”
Narrator: Jesus, knowing that she was just being ‘a smart aleck,’ said,
Jesus: “O.K.; go and get your husband and come back here so that I can give both of you some.”
Narrator: The woman replied,
Samaritan woman: “I’m not married.”
Narrator: Jesus responded,
Jesus: “Well, at least in this you have told the truth. You’ve had five previous husbands and the man that you’re ‘shacking up with now’
is certainly not one of them!”
Narrator: At this the woman shouted,
Samaritan woman: “Wow…You must be A Prophet! How else could You know this!?
Narrator: At this very moment His disciples returned.
They walked up on Him while He was talking with the Samaritan woman and started ‘wigging out,’ saying,
Disciple # 1: “What are You doing”
Disciple # 2: “Why are You talking with her!?”
Disciple # 3: “You know that we don’t talk to ‘those people!’”
Narrator: At this moment, the Samaritan woman dropped the jug that she was using to draw water with, and ‘took off’ for the city.
